Governance and Sustainability of Social Policies: From Diagnosis to Democratic Action

The 11th Conference of the Spanish Social Policy Network (REPS) will be held in Valencia, Spain, from 9 to 11 June 2027.

Under the theme Governance and Sustainability of Social Policies: From Diagnosis to Democratic Action, the conference will focus on how social policies are designed, governed and sustained in a context of growing social, economic and institutional complexity.

The conference aims to provide a space for academic and professional debate on the present and future of social policy. Particular attention will be given to the governance and sustainability of welfare systems, as well as to the capacity of public policies to respond democratically to emerging social challenges and inequalities.

The priority thematic areas include governance and sustainability of social policies, childhood and adolescence, care and dependency, health and longevity, diversity, social inclusion, territorial inequalities, the European dimension of social policy, gender-based violence, employment and labour policies, housing, migration and social protection, among other areas.

The Spanish Social Policy Network (REPS) brings together researchers, academics and professionals working in the field of social policy. Created in 2008 under the auspices of ESPAnet (European Network for the Analysis of Social Policy), the network promotes research exchange, comparative analysis and cooperation between scholars and professionals in Spain and internationally.

The call for thematic panels is currently open, with proposals accepted until 18 September 2026.
