Work, Values and Change: The Ruptures of Precarious Employment

Description: Seminar examining the effects of precarious employment on young people’s culture and employment trajectories. The research explored the declining centrality of productive work as a cultural reference point, the normalisation of discontinuous and poorly paid employment trajectories, and emerging forms of participation and engagement in working life.

Speakers: Iván Miró and Daniel Ortiz.

Venue: Faculty of Political Science and Sociology, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

Context: The research received the Government of Catalonia’s 1999 Youth Award and was subsequently published in the Aportacions and Estudis series.
