Abstract: Mattia Vacchiano has analysed in his doctoral thesis the influence of personal contact networks during the youth labour search and insertion processes. The study shows that insertion through family, friends or acquaintances is a structural characteristic of the Catalan labour market, with networks being the main means of labour market insertion before and during the recent economic crisis.
