Abstract: The Centre d’Estudis Sociològics sobre la Vida Quotidiana i el Treball (QUIT) of the UAB has participated in a research that has analysed the factors that affect the wage gap between men and women, as well as the perceptions of social agents on the issue. The results show inequality in paid working time, a significant sexual division of labour and a social and wage undervaluation of the work done by women, as well as a strong tendency to encourage presenteeism and long working hours by companies.
