Pierpaolo Mosaico
Predoctoral Researcher
Pierpaolo Mosaico is a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Department of Sociology at Sapienza University of Rome.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Labour Relations from the University of Bologna and a master’s degree in Sociology for Sustainability and the Analysis of Global Processes from Sapienza University of Rome.
He has collaborated with the Istituto di Ricerche Educative e Formative (IREF) on urban regeneration initiatives. As part of the Caring Tower project, he collected life stories that were published in the 2023 anthology La parola che cura – storie di vita degli inquilini della “torre gialla” (The Healing Word: Life Stories of the “Yellow Tower” Residents). He has also collaborated with the Fondazione Di Vittorio on research projects in the field of trade unions and industrial relations.
He is affiliated with the Sociological Research Centre on Everyday Life and Work (QUIT), where he collaborates on the TRANSVEC project.

Research interests
His research focuses on the sociology of work, industrial relations, and socio-ecological transformation, with particular attention to the impact of the automotive transition on work organisation and the role of trade unions. His doctoral research examines trade union strategies in response to decarbonisation and industrial restructuring through a comparative study of Italy and Spain.
