Núria Sánchez Mira

Junior lecturer

Degree in Sociology (2010) by the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB), Master’s in European Labour Studies (2011) by the UAB (one semester attended at Zentrum für Sozialpolitik Bremen, Germany), and PhD in Sociology (2016) by the UAB, under the supervision of Fausto Miguélez and Joan Miquel Verd. During my doctoral training, I have carried out research stays at Soziologisches Forschungsinstitut Göttingen (Germany) and at the European Work and Employment Research Centre, in Manchester (UK).

She has worked in several international and nacional research projects with competitive funding (CAPRIGHT-Resources, rights and capabilities; in search of social foundations for Europe- VI Framework Program; “La brecha salarial y la brecha de cuidados. Dos factores de desigualdad de género”-Instituto de la Mujer – EEA Grants; “La brecha salarial como fenómeno multidimensional. Análisis de barreras institucionales, organizacionales y culturales. Propuestas para la intervención” – Recercaixa).

Areas of specialization

Her research interests include the analysis of work and employment from a gender perspective, with special interest in comparative approaches and those using mixed methods.
