Martí Fernández Saboya

Predoctoral researcher (Industrial PhD)

Martí Fernández is a PhD candidate in Sociology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), where he is undertaking an industrial doctorate focused on the role of collective bargaining in the regulation of telework in Spain, with particular attention to processes of coordination and normative diffusion.

He worked as a researcher at Notus (2022–2026) within the framework of his industrial doctorate, contributing to applied research projects on working conditions and labour market regulation.

He holds a Master’s degree in Sociology: Social Transformation and Innovation and a postgraduate degree in Data Science from the Universitat de Barcelona (UB), and a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).

He has participated in several national and European research projects. He was part of the TWING project (European Commission, GA 101052332), focused on the role of social dialogue and collective bargaining in the governance of telework, and has contributed to the Correspondents Network of Eurofound. He has also researched affective polarization in political language in Spain using natural language processing (NLP) techniques.

His areas of expertise include sociology of work and the application of advanced quantitative methods, such as network analysis and data science, to the study of labour relations.
