Is male hegemony declining?

Abstract: According to research carried out at the UAB’s Centre for Sociological Studies on Everyday Life and Work, the current crisis is leading to an increase in male unemployment and worsening working conditions for many men. This is forcing some of them to have a greater presence in the home and to devote more time to caring for their children. This study shows how, despite this change, paid work continues to be at the heart of men’s life trajectories.
