Abstract: This study analyses the impact of job training workshops offered in prisons in Catalonia on the reintegration of ex-prisoners into the labour market. The results indicate that these activities, in addition to favouring the emotional stability of the inmates and order within the penitentiary centre, contribute to offering job placement opportunities, which results in a lower recidivism in criminal acts. It is evident that accompaniment in the process of transition to freedom is key to ensuring behavioural change.
