Cristian Segura-Carrillo

Research support technician

Bachelor in Social Work, and Master in Social Work and Social Policies, University of Concepción, Master in Teaching for Higher Education, National University Andrés Bello, Chile; PhD student in Sociology, Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain.

He has coordinated social programmes in the area of secondary education in the Chilean public system. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at the University of Concepción, where he has been responsible for coordinating several projects with public funding to carry out social interventions for people with disabilities and where he has also led postgraduate and educational intervention programmes in higher education.

He has received several scholarships for training and research. His latest grant has been the Chilean ANID (National Agency for Research and Development) grant for PhD studies abroad.

Research interests

His research interests are mainly focused on social stratification and social mobility. He is also interested in social intervention studies and public policy with a human rights approach.

Cristian is currently working on the DINAMOS project “Dynamics of social mobility analysis in Spain” and is writing his doctoral thesis on the subject of comparative social mobility.
