Abstract: A consortium of five research teams from Europe, coordinated by the Centre for Sociological Studies on Everyday Life and Work (QUIT) of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, has completed the project ‘Relaunching Collective Bargaining Coverage in Outsourced Services’ (RECOVER), funded by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion. The study analyses the regulatory framework of outsourcing, business practices and their implications for employment relations in six countries (France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and the United Kingdom), focusing on different high and low-skilled activities to suggest specific lines of action to improve the social protection of these workers.
