Celeste Sánchez Fernández

FPU Predoctoral Researcher

Celeste has a degree in Sociology and Political and Administration Sciences from the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO, 2023). She has completed the Master in Methodology Applied to Public Policy at the same university (UPO, 2024). She obtained the highest grade in her Final Degree Project “Characteristics of labor market insertion among university graduates in 2019 in Spain” (2023). In addition she was awarded the competitive concurrence grant JAE Intro ICU 2023 at the Institute for Advanced Social Studies (IESA, 2024), under the training plan “Training in Web Data Mining”, directed by Dr. José Luis Ortega Priego.

 

She has collaborated in the R+D+i project “Movilidad Social Intergeneracional: La Educación como Mecanismo Explicativo (DINAMOS2)”, coordinated by Dr. Sandra Fachelli. She is currently a doctoral student and FPU beneficiary in the Department of Sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona under the direction of Dr. Pedro López-Roldán, is part of the PAIDI DINAMOS group, and collaborates in the international project “A New Measure of Socioeconomic Inequalities for International Comparison (INCASI2)”, coordinated by Dr. Pedro López-Roldán and subcoordinated by Dr. Sandra Fachelli.

Research interests

Her research interests are diverse, highlighting quantitative methodology and the field of sociology of work. Currently, her doctoral thesis line of work is focused on the study of inequality, stratification and social mobility in university graduates, in a cross-country perspective.
