Description: Seminar examining the unequal participation of women and men in scientific activity and highlighting the careers and contributions of pioneering women researchers, particularly in the social sciences. The sessions combined biographical and historical perspectives with the presentation of research findings on women and science.
Documented contributions: Teresa Torns discussed the work of Marie Jahoda; María Ángeles Durán presented her intellectual trajectory; and Teresa Ortiz, Professor of the History of Science at Universidad de Granada, offered a historical perspective on women’s scientific and medical practice. The seminar concluded with the presentation of research conducted by three doctoral students.
